WHERE IS THE BEST VENUE TO HIRE FOR PARTIES IN BRIGHTON?
Brighton’s not short of a location or two for a party but which venue you select comes down to how private you would like the space to be, how important location is and how many guests you’ll have. In our opinion a good venue should be easy for guests to get to, have enough space for you to set out food and a dance floor but not so much that you lose the intimate atmosphere, provide some seating, have sole use toilets and a private bar just for your guests so you don’t lose them in the throng of wherever the venue is situated. The Greene Room provides all of these things and is a popular party venue because we know what makes a good party! We’re ideal for small to medium size parties, for larger events (over 75 people) we may be able to point you in the direction of some of the venues we know around Brighton so just ask!
WHAT SHOULD I LOOK FOR WHEN CHOOSING A VENUE FOR MY PARTY?
Our checklist would cover:
- Space and room – enough for you to set everything out you need and leave enough room for guests to mingle without being overcrowded but not too much that your guests look lost in the space!
- Music sound system / space for DJ – music gets the party going so you’ll either need to have your own equipment and playlists or rely on a DJ. We can play your playlists through our system giving a nice and easy way to know the music is taken care of.
- Good staff – the bar staff team are there interacting with your guests all night and need to be not just attentive but warm, friendly and knowledgeable.
- Flexibility – no one size fits all and no party is the same so a venue that you can tweak elements such as food, drink, layout, decor can all help make it bespoke to you.
- Food – banish soggy sausage rolls and develop a menu that caters for your specific requirements and impresses your guests.
WHAT IS BEST – PUB FUNCTION ROOM, HOTEL OR PRIVATE DINING ROOM?
Whether your chosen venue is a conference room in a hotel, a screened off area in a pub or restaurant, a pub function room or banqueting room, a hall or even your own front room, the best venue is one that fits your budget, can accommodate your number of guests, and where you know each element can be taken care of with minimal stress. The Greene Room is designed for parties and events, its sole purpose is to help people have a good time so you can expect a good service, attention to detail and the chance to tailor things to suit your party needs.
CAN I DECORATE THE GREENE ROOM FOR MY EVENT?
We have designed our venue to look stylish and provide an elegant backdrop for events. You can add your own personal touches to our rooms if you wish, particularly important for wedding receptions but some party hosts also like to do this. You can access our rooms in the afternoon before your event, or earlier if needed, and in the morning after too to take anything down. The room is often used on a Sunday afternoon so everything will need to be restored by 11am.
CAN I PLAY MY OWN MUSIC?
Absolutely! We can play your playlists throughout the venue on our sound system. Just either bring an iPad or other device with you that we can connect up or send us your playlists in advance and we can play them through our Spotify account.
IS THE GREENE ROOM FREE TO HIRE FOR MY EVENT?
Yes, it is, however we have a minimum spend policy which you can spread across food and drink and choose how much of this you as the host would like to pay. Your guests on the night if they are buying from our bar will count towards the spend and if there is an outstanding balance afterwards we just ask that you settle this but more often than not our guests find it’s all been taken care of on the night. Our minimum spend depends on the night you’re choosing so just check when you enquire but as a guide it is A?750 for a Friday and Saturday night, less for other nights and also for any day time hire. Look out for discounts on late availability bookings.
CAN I BRING MY OWN FOOD AND DRINK?
We provide the food and drink so there’s no need to bring anything. You can work with our chef and manager to develop the menu and any drinks you would like to have for your guests. You can of course bring any birthday or celebration cake!
HOW EARLY SHOULD I BOOK?
We’d usually recommend to secure the venue as early as you can so you know this is sorted for you, usually at least 10 weeks in advance to make sure you get the date you want. We do sometimes have late availability of dates, and deals on these, so you can always check these with us.
IS THERE A DEPOSIT TO PAY?
Yes, we require a deposit to secure the booking for you. Just check this when you enquire with us.
